About Thalia

Thalia is a multi-passionate artist born and raised in Los Angeles. She lived in San Francisco for 6 years and recently moved back to LA (for a limited time). She is a self-taught artist whose curiosity led her to explore painting as an outlet for creative self-expression and self-discovery. Although she had a natural interest in art, she did not feel she was especially gifted at it, but she never stopped painting because of how therapeutic art was for her. Over time, her artistic skills improved and her relationship with her art deepened. The inspirations for her first paintings were landscapes, sunsets, and beach scenes. She then felt inspired to express deeper human emotions and explored other styles such as abstract, figurative, and portraiture.

Thalia has continued to follow her creative curiosity and has delved into other creative outlets. She creates beaded jewelry, practices various dance styles, sings and plays music (mostly ukulele), and has recently started songwriting and performs at open mics.

Thalia’s interest in human psychology and her life’s purpose of being a guiding light in another human’s life led her to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology. After obtaining her degree, she worked as a counselor in the school setting for a few years. Shortly after starting this career, she realized that she did not want to live a life where she needed to separate her creative passions from her career and knew she needed to find a way to merge the two. She then found the field of Expressive Arts which resonated with her heart and soul. This field would allow her to integrate all her creative passions and help others heal through this therapeutic process.

Thalia has now obtained a certification in Expressive Arts and is developing her Expressive Arts Counseling and Coaching offerings which she is launching in 2025. She will continue creating her art, and also guide others towards healing and growth through therapeutic expressive arts.
