Meet Thalia
Thalia is a multi-passionate artist born and raised in Los Angeles and lives her life between LA and San Francisco. She is a self-taught artist whose curiosity led her to explore painting as an outlet for creative expression and self-discovery. Although she had a natural interest in art, she didn’t choose it because she was particularly great at it; she chose art because of how therapeutic it was for her. Over time, her artistic skills improved, her relationship with her art deepened, and she began owning her identity as an artist. The inspirations for her first paintings were landscapes, sunsets, and beach scenes. Eventually, her creative inspiration expanded, and she was inspired to express deeper human emotions, so she explored other artistic styles, such as abstract and figurative.
Thalia’s creative curiosity has gone beyond painting and the visual arts. She has explored other creative outlets such as jewelry making, various dance styles, singing, playing ukulele, and her most recent creative endeavor, songwriting.
Thalia’s interest in human psychology and her compassionate nature led her to pursue a master's degree in counseling psychology at the University of San Francisco. After obtaining her degree, she worked as a counselor in the school setting for a few years. Shortly after starting this career, she realized that not only was the job depleting her energy, but it did not have a lot of room for creative expression or growth. She felt disconnected from her art.
She was determined to find a way to integrate her professional experience and her passion for creativity into her career. She then discovered the field of Expressive Arts, which resonated with her heart, mind, body, and soul since it integrates all of the creative arts, just as she does in her personal life.
Thalia has obtained a certification in Expressive Arts and has set herself on the entrepreneurial path. She now offers 1:1 counseling services and facilitates workshops specializing in Expressive Arts to guide others toward healing and growth through creative expression.
